01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
About this place
Located just off the north exit of Hoya Station on the edge of a residential neighbourhood, Arcachon is a French pâtisserie filled with vibrant petits gâteaux, baked goods, breads, and gelato. The standout draw is the signature Dunette. The pastry chef earned the exclusive licence to produce this speciality in Japan from Marché, a long-established confectionery in Bordeaux where he trained. Rich with cognac, pine nuts, and Spanish Marcona almonds, it delivers an aromatic, crumbly texture tailored for grown-up palates. Sold both individually and in dedicated presentation boxes, it is a favourite for souvenirs and self-treats alike.
Layered Cakes and Dark, Aromatic Canelés
The refrigerated showcase features intricately composed cakes. Highlights include the Monaco, wrapping raspberry coulis inside white chocolate-enrobed vanilla mousse over a fragrant base, and the Marilyn, pairing rich chocolate mousse with bitter coffee crème brûlée. Creations range from the playful Prune Salée, which brings together pickled umeboshi plum and chocolate, to a classic crème brûlée with a crisp, bitter-sweet caramelised crust. The traditional canelés, subtly fragrant with spirits, are also widely sought after for their dark exterior crunch and moist, custardy interior.
Takeaway Sweets or a Pause in the Café Corner
In addition to takeout, visitors can sit down in the small café area to enjoy cake or gelato alongside coffee. The shop accepts a wide range of credit cards and cashless options, including PayPay and transit IC cards. From casual afternoon tea treats to whole celebration cakes and seasonal gift boxes, it serves as a versatile neighbourhood pâtisserie.
